Windows Codex and Claude Code Readiness Checklist
Use this before buying the kit if you want a quick manual pass. The paid beta turns these checks into a readable local HTML report, support-safe Markdown, and structured JSON.
Workstation Basics
- Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11.
- PowerShell 7 installed, or Windows PowerShell 5.1 available for basic scripts.
- WSL installed with a default Linux distro.
- Default WSL distro uses WSL 2.
Developer Tools
- Git for Windows is installed and resolves from PATH.
- Node 20 LTS or newer is installed.
- npm works from a new terminal.
- pnpm is installed or Corepack is enabled if your repos expect it.
- Python 3.11 or newer is installed and resolves from PATH.
Agent Tooling
- Codex CLI is installed if you plan to use Codex.
- Claude Code is installed if you plan to use Claude Code.
- ECC/gstack skills are present if you plan to use ECC workflows.
- MCP config files exist only where needed and parse cleanly.
Safety
- PATH does not contain obvious duplicate tool installs.
- You know where your API keys and auth files live.
- You will not send raw
.env, auth, credential, browser profile, or private key files to support. - You review generated reports before sharing them.
Boundaries
- No telemetry.
- No uploads.
- No bundled API keys, auth files, model access, or usage credits.
- Customer brings their own accounts, API keys, model access, and usage credits.
- No guarantee every machine can be fixed.
